The Nugget - Sparks, NV

It’s always fun returning to another home away from home and this year’s trip to John Ascuaga’s was no different. Many thanks go out to all the familiar faces and Nugget staff for making this another special weekend, as good times were had by all.

Being the first show of the year with The Taxi, the fun on stage was matched throughout the packed Celebrity Showroom from the first note of Greencastle Blues. Keep Off The Grass and Runaround Sue make first time appearances with the band, along with the first performance of I Got My Mojo Workin’. This is a very extended Nugget show and some other highlights include This Land Is Our Land, Georgia On A Fast Train and a jammed out version of Don’t It Make You Wanna Dance.

Harlow’s - Sacramento, CA

The wonderful people of Sacramento, Harlow’s warm vibes, mixed with a sold out crowd helped close out the final solo show of The 2011 Left Coast Tour. The Eighteen Minutes Introduction gathered more steam and was followed by Happy New Year, kicking of a very fun show.

This intimate evening featured something for everyone with several stories, a few sing along tunes and multiple requests including one of Todd’s favorite Jerry Jeff Walker’s tunes, Stoney.

Mystic Theatre - Petaluma, CA

You couldn’t tell from the sold out crowd or the incredible energy filling the historic Mystic Theater this was a Sunday night. Another very intense performance from Todd that feeds off the fantastic audience and includes some hilarious banter between songs.

Enjoy Yourself makes an early appearance along with classic versions of the KK Rider and Bob Dlyan stories before the show closes with a personal favorite, Come From the Heart.

Great American Music Hall - San Francisco, CA

The enthusiastic San Francisco crowd always brings the most unique and positive vibes into the Great American Music Hall and this was another unforgettable show.

Several story songs begin the show before another must hear version of the Bob Dylan story. As the energy continues to build, sing along tunes Alright Guy and Runaround Sue make appearances, as the unofficial theme song of the city Relax Your Mind closes the show.

Rio Theater - Santa Cruz, CA

Santa Cruz is one of Todd’s favorite stomping grounds and they welcomed him back with open arms. There was no shortage of excitement and energy in the Rio Theater despite the ‘lack’ of booze served on a Friday night. The Eighteen Minutes Intro and powerful greeting from the full house kicked the show off with a bang as the good vibes on and off stage continued to build. All My Life and Carla made rare appearances this week, along with local favorite tunes Beer Run and Santa Cruz. The entire house singing along to Relax Your Mind capped off a perfect show.

This show felt more like a Saturday than a Wednesday night in Solana Beach. The very excited Belly Up crowd provided many requests as Todd did his best to grant them all. Highlights include East Nashville Skyline, a slow soulful version of Sideshow Blues, tip of the hat to Arlo and a great story about Todd’s dog Cowboy Jim. The evening wraps up with a couple classic sing along tunes, Enjoy Yourself and Runaround Sue.

The left coast 2011 tour kicked off with a very special show in Los Angeles which was dedicated to the memory of Bob Mercer. Along with classic versions of the Bob Dylan and KK Rider stories, this show also features unforgettable versions of Just Like Old Times and Rose City. The encore included one of everyone’s favorite Stone’s tunes Far Away Eyes and closed with a very fitting Enjoy Yourself.

The sold out crowd in Hudson, NY was treated to very special guest, Keith Christopher sitting in on guitar throughout the show. The setlist kicks off with Sideshow Blues and some great dueling acoustic guitars on Is This Thing Working. Good times continued on and off stage with Stuck On The Corner, Moondawg’s Tavern and a serious attempt of Subterranean Homesick Blues. Following the story of how they met, Todd and Keith break into a classic version of Ride Me Down Easy.

Night 2 at Joe’s Pub picked up right where it left off with amazing energy packing the room. You’ll be happy to hear the always great Bob Dylan Story in Keep Off The Grass, also included in this completely different set are rarely played tunes Mission Accomplished and The Last Laugh. The show wraps up with the return of the Mushroom Football Story and closes with a surprise, the classic R&B tune Sh-Boom.

The Storyteller tour kicked off in New York City, with two sold out evenings on the lower east side. The cozy room, high energy crowd, and several unique requests helped make this such an enjoyable show for everyone. Along with a dignified confession about his dog, Todd provides introductions to several songs and includes the Tunnel Story in Rose City. The encore features Can’t Complain and Ballad Of The Devil’s Backbone Tavern, which were both pleasant surprises.
