Acorn Theater - Three Oaks, MI

The intimate Acorn Theater in southwestern Michigan played home to one of the most memorable shows of the year. The evening opened with Like A Rolling Stone played on piano, which was an early indication for the attentive crowd that this was a special night. Along with several cover tunes played including Needle And The Damage Done, some rare stories told, there was also some great banter between songs and too many other highlights to list.

This show is nothing short of amazing. Prime proof that even lifer fans still need to check for schedule updates, can’t believe I didn’t know about this show until we made it back up north from the Ark, which in itself was a clear indication of what was to follow. Nevertheless, the Ark provided more than enough for my Todd vein. But goddamn, just ran into Stoney, old chunk of coal, just the piano onstage alone, clear signs that those of us still chasing those last fading traces of thompson’s american dream aren’t as lost as they all might think we are…pure Horatio Alger. Thanks Todd.
